MEANING OF WORSHIP

Main purpose of worshipping Absolute or God is to shed arrogance of mind, which can entice any person into building false ego as a doer of work or duty or acquirer of great knowledge leading to tremendous achievements and respect in life.

Bargaining of worship for fulfilment of worldly gains is like selling gold as scrap. Many would question that if one would not request God for better life than whom should one? For them, a midway is, pray twice - once with a list and second time without a list of jobs to be given to God.

God has declared that He knows our past, present and future and already doing the best for us in every respect. Thus there is no need to ask. If one insists, then God directs the beggar-devotee to one or more of 330 million demi-gods/goddesses/angels to attend and Himself turns away. (Reference: Srimad Bhagwad Gita).

'Four kinds of people remember God on this earth. First, who are unhappy with life. Second, who bargain worship for business-like worldly gains. Third, who try to define God by acquiring knowledge and understanding (intellectuals). Fourth,  who simply love "Me"/God and always seek God's company. Out of these four types of devotees, only the fourth category, those who love "Me"/God alone acquire "Me"/God. (Bhagwad Gita).

Practically uneducated and yet celebrated devotee like Saint Kabir sang 'World has died reading scriptures, and yet no-body realized God; four-lettered word, LOVE, whoever has understood, is indeed the realized-one' ("Pothi pud-pud jug mua, hua na pandit koi; dhie akshar PREM ke, padhe so pandit hoi").

TO ENJOY IS LIFE

Secret of happiness on this earth is enjoy doing ones own duty, without much attachment to the fruit of the duty. Attachment to acquisitions or rewards of work only holds us back from moving forward. One must set targets to achieve, as this is important for efficiency of performing duty. But, attachment to results, if not achieved, leads to disappointment (unhappiness), which further reduces the zeal to perform duty. Like our most-desired toys of childhood no-longer interest us now. Likewise, we might discover that our present achievements may mean trivial to us in future. The best way to celebrate the achievements is to share acquisitions with contemporary peers, less successful than thou - not enslaving them to laziness, but encouraging them to take their duty more seriously. Last and the most important aspect is not to allow one's success go to the head and fire the ego. For this, dedication of achievements to  ONE - GOD - hiding behind our temporary identities is the technique. These fundamentals are derived from over 5000 years old treatise on Self-mangement: Bhagwad Gita. Omn, Amen, Amin!

HARLOT OR MAAYAA

1. Maaya, demons, opposition to the right path are created by God to test if His seeker truely loves Him or has some fears/desires on his list. 
2. True seekers of God, say no to tentalizing maaya politely with folded hands & proceed ahead with unitary focus on meeting God.
3. The purpose of maaya, according to Gita is only to provide an unfailing test on seekers of God, as this knowledge is denied to fickle minds. 
4. Knowing God is the sole purpose of knowledge. Bhagwat Gita is the only scripture that describes God in 1st person and directly envisions God. 
5. Only those devotees of Truth/God, who can conquer maayaa by self-disciplline, can realize God.
6. Maayaa is conquered by seekers of Truth/God by refusing to accept ill-gotten powers/wealth/comforts/sensory pleasures, just as test-hurdle. 
7. Indian mythology calls maayaa as illusionery feminine-image of God, and wise take a direction opposite to instinctive maya-net to realize God. 
8. According to Gita, everything that alienates man from God is maayaa/corruption. Seekers of God renounce maayaa (which includes our false egos too). 
9. Counterpart of illusionery woman harlot has a parallel in "maayaa" in Indian mythology. She allures man to worldly desires by indisciplline.

PURPOSE OF LIFE

Purpose of this human life is not just to achieve happiness - it is to achieve ETERNAL BLISS, advises Bhagwat Gita.

All living-beings on earth wear a protoplasmic (matter/energy) clothing for a life-time (like a jail-uniform) which gives them their individual but temporary identity.

Life on earth is like a prison, from where, prisoners refuse to escape despite when its doors are open: biggest surprise! Our attachment to this jail of highs and lows of life is responsible: Bhagwad Gita. 

"Working on assigned duty with full sincerity without attachment to the fruit of all activities of life is the simplest way to achieve best in this life and attain Bliss/God": Bhagwad Gita 3.19.

All living-beings are like God's robots, doing useful work without realizing this fact. Man knows this and yet wastes life to reap unjustified profits from work. 

An earthworm unknowingly does more useful work by making the top soil more fertile for food production than a lazy-man wasting life making only lame excuses.

Life on earth is evolving through approximately 8.4 million species of pleasure-hunt:  looking, unknowingly for the same TRUTH, which they once ignored.
 

Only persons of limited intelligence see themselves as one-time personalities living on earth and behaving as mere assemblages of atoms of matter/mud.

LIFE - A HURDLE RACE

Life is a hurdle race - the bigger the hurdle one crosses, the bigger the achievement.

All living beings are given a protoplasmic dress at birth, which grows to an optimal size for carrying out some work in a requisite survival-niche.

Reward of work carried out may be proportional or out-of-proportion to work performed, depending on factors understood or not undestood by mind, which is a habitual exploiter in the situation.

Smart people become observers of their own mind, and do not un-necessarily react to relative situations of happiness, stagnation and unhappiness.

God has made man to act and not to react and stay even-minded in success or failure by remaining unattached to the world - Bhagwat Gita.

Like our body organs are serving  with dedication to us, without wish of focal enlargement of any hardworking organ like heart, liver, etc; man has to learn to behave working peacefully within the norms of the bigger organism, called society.

GOD, GURUS AND US

1. This universe is connected to God's naval via an energy-lotus chord. Must listen to our gut-feeling: maybe, it is God calling. Omn, Amen, Amin! 
2. The whole universe is like ONE VIRAT living being. Selfless karma and welfare of all is the key to authentic existence and true self-love.
3. Guru/teacher/religious leader has a purpose to facilitate understanding of truth for ignorant common man & not misuse followers for power.
4. Raam, Krishna, Budha, Christ, Mahaveer, Mohammad and other great ones have left positive marks on us, so that we love and live happily thereafter, not to politicise.
5. Wisdom lies in understanding one another to unite and strengthen our positivity, rather than finding reasons to differ to flaunt false egos.

12. Like one "peel-off" the skin by a beautician, removes millions of dying cells to invigorate us, nobody is supposed to live in form for ever. 

BEAUTY IS JOINING TRUTH

Secret of eternal beauty remains as ever: "Satyam (to truth) Shivam (being attached) Sundram (is beautiful). The funda of looking good is therefore: always remain attached to truth (Satsang).

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and duty in your own hands.

Any attainment, whatsoever, if not permanent is no attainment. Likewise, beauty lost with time is no beauty.

CARING AND SHARING

Like different lobes of our brain cooperate & coordinate our personality; may different countries cooperate & behave to make earth a heaven.

As creation of universe is a sport of God, all kinds of characters are created from excellent, good, average,bad & evil, because all are secure.

A self-realized person treats all living-beings as one family, referred in Gita as "Vasudev/God kutumbkam/family".

A self-realized devotee of God can thus never care less for any being and, is thus full of love for all beings, called UNIVERSAL LOVE.
 

"A true yogi observes Me (God) in all beings and also sees every being in Me. A self-realized person/yog-uktatma sees Me everywhere": Gita 6.29.

SAGES AND SCIENTISTS

Like scientists filter out noise from signal by various controls, sages control similar noise of worldly desires to perceive God's message.

As scientists know one-ness of DNA of trillions of their body cells, sages know their spiritual one-ness with universe & God.

Like organs of my body: brain, heart, liver, kidney,etc., have their distinct identities of form and function; I know they are me, but my organs may not know for whom they work. Likewise, we too forget that we are working for God
.

As upon attaining maturity, our red blood cells eliminate their nuclear identity to accommodate more hemoglobin to disseminate life-giving oxygen to other cells of our body and take-away toxic carbon dioxide; sages too wear saffron upon maturity and distribute happiness in society and redress problems, likewise.

Thus, both scientists and sages are seeking truth of existence - the former materially and the latter spiritually - both to conform to ONE TRUTH, eventually.

HE, YOU AND ME ARE ONE

1.Vedas define God as Truth/Sat All-knowing/Chit Bliss/Anand. Gita advises that man can achieve same BLISS by loving/adoring Nar-Narayan: Vishnu.

2.Time and space only subserve at the level of creation; they do not exist at the level of God, that is why God is worshiped as ETERNITY.

3.Our own Soul is timeless Devine. Thus, Lord Vishnu is shown as Eternal Teenager without any mouche/beard, which means changeless with time.

4.Bhagwat Gita exhorts wise ones not be attached to their present temporary protoplasmic identities & their acquisitions, for self-realization.

5.Living-beings on earth wear a protoplasmic (matter/energy) clothing for a life-time which gives them their individual but temporary identity.

6.Soul in all beings is God's own original-self; therefore,wise ones are never biased & treat all beings as God's family - Vasudev Kutumbkam.

7.Like man runs his instruments with electricity,God runs His instruments: 330million gods/godesses & 8.4 million living-beings,with His soul.

8.Vedas declare: Yatha/like pinde/body, tatha/like brahmande/universe: means our body and universe are same in nature (matter,energy and soul).

9.So, knowing our real-self, one may never lose self-confidence.

GOD and satan inside us:Art of living is to groom godliness & tide over satanic instints like lust,anger,greed,jealousy,anguish,self-love.

In God's true realization,time,space & substances cease to exist.Thus creation of universe,all living beings & evolution fundas vanish: Vedas.

God advises in Gita that man, being in His image, may try to live life smiling beautifully like a lotus flower - unruffled by slush around.

God alone is Absolute & His creation is relative subject to time,space & substance; all may feel safe & confident that we have His Soul in us.

MEANING OF CHARITY

A contemporay of Tulsi Das, poet Raheem usually gave charity in the day and felt small. On Tulsi's enquiry, he replied: I feel small while giving charity, because the actual giver is some one else (God). Lucky are those, who have somebody to receive charity from them. The best charity is to teach the beggar an art of making better livelihood through doing useful work

SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY

Creation of universe is the first intelligent question mankind has ever asked. Even the most ancient sources of knowledge like Vedas and Bhagwat Gita have dwelled on this question. First these scriptures declare: "Yatha brahmande tatha pinde and yatha pinde tatha brahmande" meaning "Like universe like body and like body like universe". Which means body of living-beings and composition of universe is same (matter & energy). Second declaration these scriptures make is that universe was created instantaneously from "Maha-shunya" or "smallest-nothing" in God's naval, like an opening lotus flower (means universe is always expanding). Bhagwat Gita demonstrates to select enightened persons (like scientists who devise the required wherewithal to make minute & rare observations) the whole universe lies in God's form-Vishnu's abdomen. Baby Krishna also demonstrated the same to His mother Yashodha by opening His mouth. One limitation with material science is that it cannot prove the existence of property-less soul, which is considered by the ancient wisdom as the cause of creation. That is why, man considers himself to be different from other living-beings on this earth. Whereas, the ancient wisdom declares, that the same soul/atma expresses itself in diverse properties of matter-energy assmblies of 8.4 million living species. For material scientists to understand this discrepency, another quantum leap is yet required to be made with saints and scientists holding joint conferences and workshops and working with one-another's tools. Provided all the weapons of destruction the material scientists have made, in fear of fellow-men, do not explode first.

EGO AND IDENTITY

   Selfishness is fueled by uncontrolled animal-instincts like lust, anger, envy, ego, greed, enmity, attachment - meant exclusively for our survival.

   Man - at the top of the tree of animal kingdom - surprisingly refuses to accept being an animal. Perhaps, ego is the cause.

    A major difference between big and great is, despite both being big, the great ones are humble and do not pose.

  Soul in all beings is God's own original-self; therefore, wise ones are never biased & treat all beings as God's family - Vasudev Kutumbkam.

  Yog may give super-human powers to the person, practice of which, may add to ego of the practiser & thus God-realization may become difficult.

  AMNESIA OF IDENTITY: God informs us through Gita that man loves his temporary ID so much that he forgets himself being God - illusion of mind.

  Those who totally surrender their ego to God and give away spare-earning in charity to deserving have-nots and love God, become God (Moksh): Gita. 

  Why Love? Because in True Love, one surrenders false ego - the root-cause of selfishness and worldly desires - "Love is My/God's innermost nature and Truth I am" : Gita.   

  Biggest surprise on earth is that we are afraid to face Truth but, ready to suffer and die numerous times and yet, treat ourselves as permanent.

  May mankind not be naive to pit religions against God Almighty Himself, in order to satisfy ego of diverse religious identities on earth.

  Water in a dew drop has its identity before it dries into air or dissolves into ocean. Man has yet to realize this simple fact of existence.

  True-self in all living-beings including man & God is SAME. Our mind refuses to accept this hard-fact and suffers from ego: God's worship helps. 

  If man fails to control his ego and fear fellow-men, he shall soon be responsible for wiping out all life from earth.

  "Every living-entity is called fallible in the material world, In the spiritual world, every living-entity is called infallible": Gita 5.16.

  Upon total surrender of ego when a devotee submits to God, it is God who becomes a devotee of the devotee: thus, man becomes God: Ancient wisdom.

  APPREHENSION ON NIRVAN/MOKSH: Why to lose one's identity in God while being in heavens, one can enjoy existing as a separate entity?

  "Impelled by lust, ego and attachment, those who undergo severe austerities and penances to torture body and soul are to be known as demons": Gita17.6.

  "Demonaic minds thus indulge in insatiable lust, conceit, false-prestige and are sworn to unclean work hell-bent to impermanent" Gita 16.12.  

  "If you be conscious of Me (God), you will tide over all obstacles of conditioned life by My Grace. In false pride you shall be lost": Gita 18.58.

  "ONLY men of small knowledge fall pray to religiosity promising sense-gratification and opulent life and elevation to heavens". Wake up. Gita 2.43.

GOD IS ONE - VASUDEV EKAM - EK OMKAAR - UNBORN -AJANMA

Man of year 2010 knows more about life on earth than life, if any, elsewhere. As a dedicated seeker, man has been trying to understand existence, more than any other visible being on earth. Like scientists of today, who can only conclude total existence as matter, energy and matter-energy interactions can by far, view life as metabolism. Vedic civilization applied mind on this aspect, more than 5000 years ago, and reached the conclusion that the whole universe (all galaxies of the universe) is an egg(anda) of God(Brahman), called Brahmanda. Vedic explantion of existence was enunciated as "like body like universe/yatha pinde tatha brahmande". This statement practically means that the whole universe can be viewed within the human body. Science, however, tends to view the universe outside us, which then has to comprehend distances in terms of light years (time taken by light to travel in years). What science observes are the events that took place millions of years ago; thus it lacks in the current state of affairs. Whereas, concentrating mind in meditation, seemingly encompasses time as a meagre dimension of change. Thus relativity (science) and spirituality (timeless) complement each other. Both science and spirituality may thus respect each other mutually and rediscover what we call existence.

BLISS versus HAPPINESS

   When God is everywhere, we also have to be everywhere, to be with God: a mantra for eternal bliss given by God is "Om tatsat": Bhagwat Gita.

   If one wants to grow:keep growing to unachievable infinity.If one wants bliss:fall to Absolute zero or Maha-Shunya - lotus feet of God:Gita.

   Permanent place in heaven is a bigger misery than living a perishable life on earth - because one yearns to meet God for ever: exhorts Gita.

   When an identity reaches its highest level of consciousness,it is called Param-Sidh state:for a man/Nar,it is Godhood/Narayan/Eternal bliss.

   Bliss is achievable by keeping in mind our infinitensibility & shedding all ego at the lotus feet of God,i.e., total surrender to Absolute.

   Live,love,practice & surrender to Truth. Make strategies to save truth wherever &,howsoever weak. Thank God for this attitude to avoid ego.

Happiness - smiling

Smiling is most welcome exercise of facial muscles that unfurls wrinkles and keeps one young, and also makes one's environment happy.

Well begun is almost well done!

Happiness has to go on increasing, as same level of happiness becomes monotonous after sometime.
